On March 5, the fifth annual conference for women’s economic growth, Novatore Impact Summit, will take place, and its program has now been announced. Among the conference speakers we will see globally recognised entrepreneur and business builder Dalia Lašaitė, the main protagonist of the popular Netflix documentary series and Latvian-born entrepreneur based in New York Sarma Melngailis, as well as NATO Force Commander in Latvia, Major General Jette Albinus.

The globally growing conservative trend shows that the narrative of female leadership and financial independence remains highly relevant. Women’s active participation in the labour market and business, their professional fulfillment, and fair remuneration are essential for the well-being of society. Novatore seeks to inspire and promote the belief that career development and financial independence are a woman’s choice worth supporting and empowering. “Everybody wins,” says Dagnija Lejiņa, co-founder of Novatore.
From breakthrough to breakdown and back:
Stories of global impact and resilience
Dalia Lašaite, one of Europe’s leading women in tech entrepreneurship, will share the journey of a business idea turning into a multi-million success story in global markets. She is the co-founder and CEO of CGTrader, one of the world’s largest marketplaces for 3D models, widely used in computer graphics, the gaming industry, and the development of virtual and augmented reality solutions. Beyond CGTrader, Lašaite has co-founded several other technology startups, demonstrating her ability to transform ideas into sustainable global businesses.
Major General Jette Albinus, Commander of NATO Forces in Latvia, is the first woman in the Royal Danish Army to attain the rank of general. She currently leads NATO’s Multinational Division “North”, one of the cornerstones of Latvia’s security. At the conference, Albinus will join a discussion on women’s roles in senior military leadership and on physical security in the context of today’s geopolitical challenges.
Sarma Melngailis, a US entrepreneur with Latvian roots, widely known as the protagonist of the Bad Vegan documentary series on Netflix, will speak about emotional resilience when one’s professional and personal life comes under intense international scrutiny. She is the co-founder of the celebrity-favored New York vegan restaurants Pure Food and Wine and One Lucky Duck, both once ranked among New York’s Top 100 restaurants by New York Magazine and Forbes. However, her remarkable success was followed by a dramatic downfall – becoming entangled with a con artist and ultimately facing imprisonment. It is a story of navigating collapse without losing one’s inner strength, rebuilding life and career from the ground up, taking responsibility, and rising stronger than before.
How to overcome fear and develop a leadership thinking?
Besides inspirational stories and insightful discussions the summit participants will have several more concentrated opportunities to expand their mindset:
Mentoring sessions with senior executives and business owners empowered by Visa
Masterclass of overcoming fear, guided by Dr. Anneli Portman, Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare
Session on the power of leadership thinking, lead by communication trainer Trudy Žagare
In the conclusion of the conference the “Baibas Balva” ceremony will take place.
The summit will bring together more than 300 senior and mid-level executives from across the Baltic states who are looking to strengthen their leadership capabilities, grow their businesses, and build new strategic connections. The forum’s mission is to advance women’s economic participation and prosperity by reinforcing their role in entrepreneurship and top-level leadership. At the same time, men are also invited to take part – fostering a broader understanding of why equal opportunities matter for business performance and long-term economic growth.
